and when each day is the same as the next,
it's because people fail to recognize the

neutrals

555SOUL JACKET, MOM'S DESIGN, ASH WEDGES, JAS MB BAG, H&M HEADBAND, MK WATCH, YSL RING, ASSORTED BANGLES, JS SUNGLASSES

So when I went to ASH to "window" shop, I saw these wedges and decided between this color and the all black. I must exude something about my style, but the sales associate, off the bat, told me this mustard yellow and tan was the perfect colorway for me because it seems to suit me more than black. Well, thank you Franco, because I barely have any basic black in my closet.

And it's true: about me rocking it well this colorway is perfect for me - I see it as more of a neutral.

I love to pair these sneakers with a soft colored knit, waxed jeans, and these for a bit of a contrast. In this case, I paired it with a pink dress, because of the way the dress flowed and its shape was so soft, I wanted to add a little bit of an unexpected edge to it but still keep the girliness - thus, sneaker wedges.

Funny, short story: this was a pajama dress my mom made for the lil' one. But I got lazy, saw it on her floor, and nabbed. Got it in this cute pink and blue!

Besides the fact that this dress was free, goes perfect with these shoes, it's also good for climbing this death trap of a fire hydrant (look at those veins in my neck - hard at work!).

BOOYAH.

It's about that time

UO ECOTE VEST - OLIVE+OAK SWEATER - SANS SOUCI SHORTS  - JF SHOES - ZADIG+VOLTAIRE BAG + MK WATCH, YSL RING, ASSORTED BRACELETS

Summer sales are over, fall collections are dropping, it's (supposedly) getting a little colder, people on the streets are layering up a little more, and I'm sure the good people at Vogue have not yet gotten an ounce of sleep. You are all my hero. And my favorite magazine.

Not to mention, Fashion Week AND Fashion's Night Out is coming soon. I'll be doing the usual things usual people do - (hopefully) interning, going to school, working, blah, blah, blah.

Most of all, as of right now, I can't wait for the mosquitoes to all travel South and leave. Or die. All of them.

Here's a Sneak Peek

WILFRED DRESS, CABLE+GAUGE VEST, MATERIAL GIRL JACKET, ZADIG+VOLTAIRE 'TEDDY' BOOTS, F21 NECKLACE

I mean, it's just at my room with it's terrible lighting. But I've been so busy, I haven't been able to find anyone who likes me enough to help take pictures for me. Oh, self-timer. You truly are my best friend.

The weather in NY's been strange. This Cable&Gauge vest is wool. It was useful... until later on that day. It rains, it hails, it's cold, it's hot. It also gets extremely dark by 7PM. I thought it was supposed to be sunny out until 7:30PM, at least? Bah.

But let's talk about some of these new pieces I have: this Wilfred dress from Aritzia is amazing. And although I no longer work with them, I still shop there because they have such fabulous and affordable things. That I need. Yennoe. Like this turquoise drop waist dress. But it's linen! Soooo practical.

Did I mention they're on sale? Ugh. That's where all my money's been going lately.

Oh. And these Zadig&Voltaire 'Teddy' boots? Well, I needed them. And there's pink involved. And leather and suede. And a skull on the side in pink. Needed. Duh.

Style Stalking Mermaids (& Men)

This past weekend was Gay Pride so there were a bunch of events happening all over the city: Gay Pride Parade in the Village and the Mermaid Parade in Coney Island, Brooklyn.

I live 3 stops away on the train from Coney Island, so attending this event was the more obvious choice.

So sum this all up: sequins, chiffon skirts, the only time when wearing a bra can pass as normal, flea markets (bought a hat for $5 and a ring for $1!), more sequins, double fisting (coffee and pina colada), blue & purple hair, nipple stickers, really drunk (and happy!) people, and really well done makeup.

If you haven't attended either parade, it's definitely a must-see, must-experience kind of thing.

Back to regularly scheduled programming soon!
